Waterproof & Tarnish-Resistant Jewellery

Is Koquetta jewellery waterproof?

Many of our pieces are made with a stainless steel base and an 18K gold PVD finish, which makes them waterproof. You can wear them in the shower, at the gym, while washing your hands and on rainy West Coast days. Each product page lists whether that piece is waterproof. Pearl pieces and sterling silver pieces are not marked waterproof, so we recommend keeping those dry. Shop our waterproof jewellery collection.

Will my jewellery tarnish or turn my skin green?

Our stainless steel and 18K gold PVD pieces are tarnish resistant and made to keep their colour with everyday wear, so they won't turn your skin green the way brass or copper costume jewellery can. Check each product page for its exact materials.

What does 18K gold PVD mean?

PVD stands for physical vapour deposition. It is a process that bonds a layer of 18K gold to a stainless steel base. The result is the rich look of gold with a finish that is more durable than traditional gold plating, which is why it holds up so well to everyday wear, and part of what makes it waterproof.

Can I swim or shower in my jewellery?

Our waterproof pieces are made for showers, sweaty workouts and everyday water. To keep the finish looking its best for as long as possible, we suggest taking your jewellery off before hot tubs, chlorinated pools, the ocean and cleaning with harsh chemicals.

Is your jewellery hypoallergenic?

Yes, many of our pieces are hypoallergenic and made with a stainless steel base that is gentle on sensitive skin. Some earrings are made with sterling silver, which is also a great choice for sensitive ears. Each product page lists its materials, and you can shop all hypoallergenic earrings.

What are the best earrings for sensitive ears?

Look for our stainless steel and sterling silver earrings. Everyday favourites for sensitive ears include our huggie earrings, hoop earrings and stud earrings. If you have a known metal allergy, check the materials on each product page before you buy.

Shipping in Canada

Where do you ship?

We ship across Canada, from British Columbia and Alberta to Saskatchewan and beyond. Koquetta Accessories is based in Chilliwack, BC, in the Fraser Valley.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes. Canadian orders over $60 get free regular shipping, and Canadian orders of $125 or more get free express shipping. Shipping options and costs for your order are shown at checkout.

Returns & Exchanges

Can I return jewellery?

For hygiene reasons, jewellery and hair accessories are final sale. Please read our full refund policy before ordering.

What if my order arrives damaged or I receive the wrong item?

Please inspect your order when it arrives and email us right away at info@koquettaaccessories.com if anything is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, so we can make it right.

Can I mix gold and silver jewellery?

Absolutely. Mixing metals is one of our favourite ways to style jewellery. Our AUDAZ Collection is made for mixing gold and silver, and pieces like our mixed metal rope chains make it easy to tie both together.

How do I layer necklaces?

Start with a short pendant or dainty chain, add a mid-length chain, then finish with a longer or more textured chain. Leave a little space between each length so every piece can be seen. Browse our layering necklaces to build your stack.

Do you have western and cowgirl jewellery?

Yes! Our western jewellery collection includes horseshoe and cowboy boot necklaces, bull pendants, turquoise pieces, bolo ties and boot charm anklets. It is made for the Calgary Stampede, rodeos, country concerts and everyday cowgirls.

What are good jewellery gifts under $50?

Caring for Your Jewellery

How do I clean and care for my jewellery?

Wipe your pieces with a soft, dry cloth after wearing and store them separately so they don't scratch each other. Avoid perfume, lotions and harsh cleaners directly on your jewellery. A little mild soap and water followed by a gentle dry works well for our stainless steel pieces.
